A GOLDEN AFTERNOON

At the Gateshead stadium on the 15th June, Ben competed in the triple jump representing North Yorkshire in the North East inter counties match. Leaping to a best of 13.92m Ben took the victory in the match and placed himself into the top 3 jumpers in the country. 

With just a few weeks to go until the English Schools Championships in Birmingham Ben has placed a solid marker to contend for the points places and secure a first ever jump over the 14m mark.

Another athlete who attended the match was Lily S. She competed in the High Jump finishing in 4th equal with a jump of 1.39m. Oscar T took on a strong field in the hurdles.  He ran 15.76s to finish 5th claiming points for the North Yorkshire team. Overall the team finished 1st in the match.
